CHESTNUT LEMON OIL Manufactured using lemongrass oil, Lemon Oil gives a virtually matt, non-tacky finish to bare timber whilst enhancing the feel of the wood and leaving a pleasant lemon aroma.
Lemongrass oil is non-oxidising and offers a water-resistant finish. It is ideal for finishing the inside of drawers and cabinets and can also be used on most turned work (it will need re-applying from time to time).
Application:
After preparing the timber to a silky smooth finish, apply Lemon Oil liberally with a brush or cloth.
Leave to soak for 15 minutes, then wipe off the excess with a clean, dry cloth.
Allow a further 24 hours for the Lemon Oil to dry thoroughly.
Further coats may be applied if required, leaving 24 hours between applications.
Use a fine abrasive between coats to smooth the surface.
Drying time: Within 2 hours
Coverage: 6 - 8m2 per litre
Compatibility: Lemon Oil should only be used on unfinished wood; all other finishes, including other oils, must be completely removed before application.
Stains must be allowed to dry thoroughly.
Sealers should not be used with Lemon Oil, but WoodWax 22 can be used on top.
Thinner: White spirit (not normally required except for washing out brushes)
Safety Considerations: Cloths used to apply Lemon Oil must be laid flat to dry before disposal or kept in a screw capped jar.
Conforms to EN71 for use on toys.
